Lock ring cylinders allow a load to be safely mechanically held in place, in most cases eliminating the need for additional cribbing, simply by turning a threaded locking ring down. Hydraulic pressure can be released and hoses removed, removing the risk of damage to a pressurized hose. Locking rings can also be moved down incrementally during a lift, significantly reducing the risk of a lost load in case of equipment failure or a shifting load.
